Wow August was quite a month for La Mafia.  It was announced that La Mafia's "Para el Pueblo " CD was nominated for  Latin Grammy during the same month  Tejano 980 in their hometown of Houston had proclaimed the entire month as La Mafia Month  in honor of their 25 year anniversry, and the night before this  Meet and Greet event they had been inducted into the HOUSTON HALL OF FAME by the City of Houston.  I was visiting family in Orange (100 miles  from H-town) when I found out that on the very day that I had planned to return to Dallas that they were having this event, so I figured since it was on my way, why not stop by for a few minutes and congratulate the guys in person and get a few pix for my site.   Since I could only stay a few minutes (because I had my cat in my car ), it was probably just as well that I missed my exit and got stuck in rush hour traffic after turning around and arrived just as they were wrapping up (because I was told that fans had lined up  an hour before the session was to start) .  It was cool how they had them set up in a separate room, with the Bud Lite girls taking FREE Poloroid photos of the fans with the guys.
