La Mafia opened the show at Far West  the same dramatic way they had in Weslaco , but it had an even more dramatic effect in a club setting. They may have opened the show the same way but it never ceases to amaze me how every single show is different. Maybe that's they way they keep it fresh for themselves because I mean how many people in the audience in Big D had seen the Weslaco show? Nope this is not a band that just goes through the motions , they have fun on stage (you know like they are just SO HAPPY to be there) and are always so in tune with their audience, giving each audience just exactly what they want. Oh man the music was just incredible as they cranked out hit after hit, and all the guys were cutting up BIG TIME. Oscar kept jumping in front of my camera whenever I was trying to take pix of the other guys, and we were right in front of Mando and even "Mr Serious" was hamming it up. Of course you know that crazy David was moving around all over the stage along with Tim and Marion and SICI managed to get Joe to stand up sos I could get a pic of him. When I saw someone coming on stage and Oscar mentioned the name Rudy , I was like "Rudy who?", then he said something about how he was a former La Mafia member, and I was like "was there another Rudy besides Rudy Martinez back in the day?", cause I totally didn't realize it was really him until I saw him strap on Tim's bass . OK, now the reason I didn't recognize him was cause it's been like 8 years (man how time flies) and he has changed a bit , BETTER LOOKING THAN EVER and he hasn't lost his touch, joining in with La Mafia like he'd never been away (BTW Tim did a great job on guitar while Rudy was playing his bass) . After Rudy left the stage , the guys just continued to wow the crowd with their amazing music and their antics onstage and of course when they closed to the customary screams of OTRA OTRA OTRA..... they were more than happy to oblige with one more song. With La Mafia you KNOW you're always going to get a GREAT show , but having just seen them less than two weeks before I didn't expect to be totally blown away , BUT I what can I say? I should know better than that by now.

I wanted to make sure to get some closeups of Marion and Tim because I didn't get many good ones in Weslaco (notice Oscar in the background)
Oscar decided he wanted to be in the picture too.
We didn't know at the time that this was Marion's last show .  I'm so glad that I got to see his last performance with La Mafia and I wish him all the best .
