When I left my motel room for the Coliseum at noon on Saturday, it was snowing pretty hard and there was a winter storm warning in effect for the entire day with a forecast of rain changing to sleet and snow and a posibility of 3 to 5 inches of snow, with temperatures dropping throughout the day. Fortunately, the temperature never dropped below freezing. However, La Mafia had flown in from Mexico, only to sit and wait for hours at the Dallas airport. For a while it looked like their takeoff would not be cleared in time for them to make the show. But, although things were running late, they made it to the c oliseum just minutes before t heir crew had things set up. And boy did they make an entrance. They opened with Sabor A La Fiesta and played hit after hit, and the crowd was pumped. I couldn't believe they were so energetic after that ordeal at t he airport. And of course as usual, they stayed after the show to sign autographs and take pictures with everyone who asked. They didn't leave the building until almost midnight. |
