It had been billed as the largest Cinco de Mayo Celebration in Houston, and it had to be the largest one in Texas. Over 90,000 people were in attendance. It was the certainly the largest event of any kind that I had ever attended. It was so exciting to see LA MAFIA perform in an event of this magnitude in their hometown. As my friend La Siciliana and I tried to make it through the crowd we got separated, and we would not find each other again until after the show. Only with the aid of our cell phones were we able to find each other and our friend Sig, who had been trying to call me from the other side of the convention center (to no avail because we couldn't hear each other). |

You will notice that my photos seem to be coming from various vantage points. I tried to get as close as I could, but in the sea of people, I was being swept away with the tide, at times my feet not even touching the ground. I got a lot of pictures of people's heads and arms LOL. Although the photos are not the best quality in the world ( I had to enlarge them and crop out the heads and arms as best I could), I hope they give you at least some idea of how much fun it was to be part of this LA MAFIA experience. |
Brian, Marion, Tim, Michael and Mando (and if you squint you can see Oscar on the big screen). |
