LILI did a great job opening the show. |
She even had the Wynonna fans dancing Salsa (or trying to LOL) |
This celebration was a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hilton being built accross from the George R. Brown Convention Center and also a special thank you to all who had participated in the flood relief efforts. And what a party The City of Houston put on, starring LA MAFIA and country super-star Wynonna Judd, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that could be seen all over the downtown area. (LOL, I still say that La Mafia and fireworks is redundant.) |
When we found out that future Latin Pop superstar, LILI, had been added to the bill to open the big show, we made it a point to get there early. I'm telling you the girl can sing! Get ready for her CD on Fonovisa (produced by Mando). It should be released real soon. And oh yeah, ladies, check out the good-looking guy to Lili's right. His name is Brian Torres. He is Lili's singing partner in the group Tropi Club. He is also embarking on a solo career, with his new CD "Así Va, Así Es" on Hacienda Records. |
When "We will, we will rock you" started playing over the speakers, that was the signal that La Mafia was about to take the stage. And rock us they did. When the guys came on stage debuting their new look, all white, with Oscar joining them dressed in black, it was quite impressive. They put on an awesome show and those country fans seeing them for the first time were blown away by their music and their energetic performance. |
