Gente Magazine was able to catch up with GRAMMY winner, Oscar de la Rosa at a benefit for the American Red Cross where it was announced that de la Rosa would be the Hispanic spokesperson for the American Red Cross in Houston, Texas. The dinner was held at Fogo de Chao, one of Houston's upscale restaurants on Westheimer Street. During the dinner we took the opportunity to speak to Oscar de la Rosa's sons, Oscar Jr. and Henry. We asked the GRAMMY winner's sons what Father's Day meant to them. The younger son, Henry's response was, "A great friendship. My father, my brother and I have established more of a great friendship. Father's Day is a good day that we can get together as a family and be really close to each other and that's why I look forward to on Father's Day." The older brother, Oscar Jr. responded, "Just more of a role model someone to actually look up to. As for me, I look at my father as one of my good friends, someone I can talk to about anything and hope that he agrees with me, whether it's good or bad. Someone that will always be there for me no matter what life brings." Was it difficult for the two sons growing up with an absent father as he was always on the road performing all over the world? Henry responded to the question, "No, I look at it as an advantage. As for me it's taught me to be a stronger man and to be more business oriented. I mean at first when you're a child you don't think of anything except yourself because you're a kid. You're sad because your father is on the road. I mean I've thought of all that stuff and now that I'm older I'm really appreciative of my father for making me into the man I am. While at the restaurant we also ran into Raul Brindis of Estereo Latino having dinner with his family and took the opportunity to get a snapshot of Raul and his beautiful little girl, Alexa. So you see no matter how busy a schedule, Mr. Brindis finds time for his family. ******************************************************************************************************************************************
